In a recent preseason game, Kansas City Chiefs rookie linebacker Jeffrey Bassa made a strong impression with his performance. According to Bassa, he received positive feedback on his play, particularly his work on special teams and his ability to make tackles and disrupt blocks on defense.
Bassa emphasized that he sees himself as a versatile player who can contribute in various ways. "I'd have to say first and foremost, I'm a guy who can do it all on special teams for you, run down and make plays, or blow a guy up on KOR - kickoff return -- and punt return (team) as well as defensively, a linebacker, who can play the run, do his best job, on first and second downs, and also on third downs," he said.
The young linebacker also expressed his appreciation for the talented offensive players he faces in practice, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes. "Offense is, going up against them every day in practice, every day in St. Joe in training camp, guys that have real speed and who can make a lot of explosive plays, whether that's running the ball or passing the ball. So, very appreciative to have a lot of those guys on offense," Bassa commented.
As the Chiefs continue their preseason preparations, Bassa's performance and versatility will be an asset as the team looks to build on their success from the previous season.
