Nigeria Native Godrick Set for Chiefs NFL Debut
14 Dec
Summary
- Chu Godrick, from Lagos, Nigeria, trained under an ex-NFL player.
- Zacch Pickens has 26 NFL games of experience with Chicago Bears.
- Omarr Norman-Lott's season-ending ACL injury impacts Chiefs' defense.

The Kansas City Chiefs are anticipating another offensive lineman making their NFL debut, with Chu Godrick elevated from the practice squad. Godrick, a 6-5, 293-pound tackle from Lagos, Nigeria, is in his first NFL season but has been with the Chiefs since Spring 2023 as an International Player Pathway product. He initially focused on basketball before transitioning to football and training in the U.S.
If the Chiefs' offensive line experiences further injuries, Godrick is a potential swing tackle option, alongside Kingsley Suamataia. This elevation comes after nearly three seasons on the practice squad. Alongside Godrick, defensive tackle Zacch Pickens, who has 26 games of NFL experience with the Chicago Bears, will also join the game-day roster.
Pickens, a former third-round draft pick, signed with the Chiefs' practice squad in August. The team has been seeking a dominant interior pass rusher, a need amplified by rookie Omarr Norman-Lott's season-ending ACL injury sustained in Week 7. Pickens' experience could help fill this void.
