Summary
- Chiefs secure 3-0 record despite offensive issues.
- Mahomes endures tough hits, showing resilience.
- Offensive line struggles raise injury concerns.
The Kansas City Chiefs achieved a 3-0 record with a 24-10 road victory against the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes absorbed numerous hits, particularly from the Dolphins' Joshua Uche and Chop Robinson on his blind side, as the offensive line struggled to protect him. This performance, with undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson filling in at left tackle, has raised concerns about the team's ability to hold up in pass protection.
Despite the offensive challenges, including a lack of sacks from the defensive line and Miami converting numerous long third downs, the Chiefs secured the win. Mahomes exhibited remarkable toughness, engineering critical scoring drives even after taking hard hits. The team relied heavily on play-action, with Mahomes excelling in this setup. However, questions linger about the offensive tackles' ability to protect Mahomes consistently in extended passing situations.
