19 Oct
Summary
- Chiefs are 5-0, with Mahomes leading the charge.
- Andy Reid nears NFL coaching victory record.
- Swift's presence boosts NFL viewership significantly.
The Kansas City Chiefs have re-established themselves as the NFL's marquee team, achieving a 5-0 record early in the 2026 season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is performing at an elite level, supported by tight end Travis Kelce and the strategic guidance of coach Andy Reid, who is climbing the all-time coaching victories list.
This resurgence follows a challenging 2025 season marked by Mahomes' injury and a six-game losing streak. The Chiefs' current success, including a 22-6 victory over the Chargers on Sunday, has reignited discussions about their dynasty status.
Taylor Swift's highly publicized presence at Chiefs games has undeniably amplified the league's viewership, with the team's games attracting record audiences. The NFL is benefiting immensely from this surge in attention, with average viewership numbers at an all-time high.
Mahomes also achieved his 100th career regular season win in 131 starts, matching Tom Brady's record for the fastest to reach this milestone. The Chiefs are poised to feature in several more high-profile, viewership-driving matchups throughout the season.
