Diggins Questions Sky's 'Loser Mentality'
8 Jul
Summary
- Skylar Diggins benched after viral social media post.
- Top scorer Rickea Jackson out for year with ACL injury.
- Team faces another losing season, playoff hopes fade.
The Chicago Sky's hopes for a playoff contender season have evaporated just four months after a promising offseason. Key players like Rickea Jackson are out for the year due to ACL injuries, while others are still recovering from previous ailments. The team, now standing at 7-14 after a recent win, faces another losing season.
Adding to the internal strife, veteran point guard Skylar Diggins publicly questioned the team's 'loser mentality' and coach's decisions in a viral social media video. She was reportedly set to come off the bench, but was then sidelined with a knee injury. Diggins has averaged 14.2 points and 6.9 assists this season.
This situation echoes past frustrations, including Angel Reese's previous criticism and the team being voted the WNBA's worst-run organization. Issues with a new practice facility further highlight ongoing organizational challenges, suggesting Diggins's comments are part of a recurring pattern for the Sky.
