Reeve Reigns Supreme: 5th Coach of Year Award

Cheryl Reeve, the head coach of the Minnesota Lynx, has been honored with the WNBA Coach of the Year award for an unprecedented fifth time. This achievement extends her own league record, having previously won the award in 2011, 2016, 2020, and 2024. Reeve secured the accolade with 54% of the votes from WNBA journalists and broadcasters, surpassing Natalie Nakase of the Golden State Valkyries and Sydney Johnson of the Washington Mystics.

Currently in her 17th season, Reeve led the Lynx to a dominant regular season, finishing with a league-best record of 33-11 and earning the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs. Her contributions this season also included her sixth All-Star Coach selection in July. Later that same month, she became the league's winningest regular-season coach with 380 victories. The Lynx are set to play Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the New York Liberty on Tuesday, September 29.
