6 Jan
Summary
- Rosenior's appointment follows fan protests against owners.
- He has more senior games experience than predecessor Maresca.
- New coach faces scrutiny amid Chelsea's poor recent form.
Amidst growing fan unrest and protests against ownership, Chelsea has appointed a new manager. This decision comes as a surprise to some, given the manager's relative inexperience in top-flight football.
The club's leadership views the new coach as the most seamless option, aligning with a preferred possession-based playing style. While he has not yet secured any trophies, he possesses more senior management experience than his predecessor, having managed significantly more games.
However, the appointment occurs during a challenging period, with the team on a poor run of form. This includes a lack of recent wins and a tendency to drop points from winning positions, presenting an immediate test for the new leadership.
