Former India leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has suggested a strategic bowling change for Rajasthan Royals ahead of their IPL 2026 encounter with the undefeated Punjab Kings. Chawla believes Sandeep Sharma should be recalled to the playing XI, replacing either Tushar Deshpande or Brijesh Sharma. He argued that Sharma's experience is vital, even though Brijesh has performed adequately in his debut season. Rajasthan Royals, currently with 10 points from eight matches, are scheduled to play Punjab Kings on April 28.
In other commentary, former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop identified Jofra Archer as a pivotal player for Rajasthan Royals. Bishop expects Archer to make a significant impact in the powerplay, provided he is in good rhythm. He also emphasized the need for other bowlers, such as Ravi Bishnoi, to step up and support Archer if he has an off day, noting a lapse in collective performance in a recent match.
