Chargers Seek Center Upgrade: Linderbaum a Free Agent Target?
16 Feb
Summary
- Jim Harbaugh's Chargers have an 11-6 record in both seasons.
- Bradley Bozeman has started 33 games at center for the Chargers.
- Tyler Linderbaum is a three-time Pro Bowl center with Baltimore.

The Los Angeles Chargers, under head coach Jim Harbaugh, have achieved an 11-6 record in each of their two seasons, only to be eliminated in the wild-card round both times. Persistent struggles at the center position, highlighted by Bradley Bozeman's 33 starts over the past two years, suggest a need for change.
As a potential solution, The Athletic's Chargers insider Daniel Popper has suggested the team pursue Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency. Linderbaum, a first-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, has a strong track record, missing only two games in his four-year career.
Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz previously worked with the Ravens as director of player personnel when Linderbaum was drafted. This familiarity could be advantageous. The Ravens declined Linderbaum's fifth-year rookie contract option for 2026, projecting a $23.4 million salary. Spotrac estimates his market value at $17.7 million per season, though he could command an even larger deal on the open market.
