Chargers' O-Line Crisis: Key Starters Out for Saturday Clash
24 Dec
Summary
- Two key offensive linemen, Becton and Salyer, missed practice Tuesday due to injuries.
- Trey Pipkins, an offensive tackle, practiced fully and is expected to return.
- Running back Kimani Vidal and other players also did not practice Tuesday.

The Chargers' offensive line is facing a critical juncture with two key starters, right guard Mekhi Becton and left tackle Jamaree Salyer, not practicing on Tuesday due to knee and hamstring injuries, respectively. Their availability for the upcoming Saturday game remains uncertain, adding to a season already marred by significant injuries to the offensive line.
Adding a glimmer of hope, right tackle Trey Pipkins participated fully in Tuesday's practice. Pipkins, who has been sidelined for the past two games with an ankle injury sustained in Week 14, is now trending towards a return, potentially bolstering the line's strength.
Beyond the offensive line, the Chargers also reported other non-participants, including running back Kimani Vidal (neck). In response, the team signed running back Jaret Patterson to the active roster and Royce Freeman to the practice squad. Wide receiver Derius Davis, safety RJ Mickens, and defensive lineman Teair Tart were also noted as non-participants.
