Gable Ends Penta's Reign: New IC Champ Crowned!

Chad Gable achieved a significant career milestone at SummerSlam, capturing his first singles title by defeating Penta. The decisive moment came when Gable forced Penta to submit, ending the luchador's impressive 153-day reign as Intercontinental Champion. This victory occurred in front of Gable's cheering family and his hometown crowd.

Despite facing a formidable offense, including a dangerous Mexican Destroyer on the apron, Gable persevered. He countered Penta's high-flying maneuvers and secured the win with an ankle lock submission. Gable's emotional reaction to his triumph highlighted the culmination of a long journey marked by setbacks and perseverance. Penta's championship run, which began in March against Dominik Mysterio, has now concluded. The future landscape for the Intercontinental Championship remains open, with anticipation building for who will emerge as the next challenger.
