Celtic Eyes Dundee Star: Ferry on Shortlist!

Celtic is reportedly considering a move for Dundee United defender Will Ferry to strengthen their left-back position. This pursuit comes as the club seeks cover for Kieran Tierney and after a previous transfer target, Marcelo Saracchi, did not materialize.

Ferry, who has entered the final year of his contract, is also on the radar of clubs in England and the Czech Republic. Dundee United is reportedly willing to negotiate a transfer fee for the player, with an estimated value of £1.7m.

This potential signing would provide Celtic with an additional option at left-back. The club had anticipated re-signing Marcelo Saracchi following a loan spell, but contract disagreements led to the deal collapsing. Another reported target, James Penrice of AEK Athens, is expected to cost approximately £4m.

Will Ferry, who made his debut for Ireland earlier this year, is expected to continue his development and potentially secure a regular spot ahead of the Euro 2028 qualifiers. He would likely welcome the opportunity to compete for a starting position at Celtic.
