Cavaliers Empower Evan Mobley as Offensive Orchestrator

As of November 1st, 2025, the Cleveland Cavaliers are making a concerted effort to evolve their team by empowering Evan Mobley, their four-year veteran and rising star, to take on a more prominent offensive role.

Last season, the Cavaliers finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference but were ultimately eliminated in the second round of the playoffs. Injuries played a significant part in their early postseason exit, but the team also acknowledged the need to adapt and improve.

Rather than breaking up their core quartet of Mobley, Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland, the Cavaliers have chosen to be patient and demonstrate their belief in this group's ability to lead them to a championship. A key part of this strategy is the increased responsibility being given to Mobley.

The results have been promising, as Mobley is now ranking second on the team in assists, averaging 4.6 per contest, trailing only Lonzo Ball. Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson has expressed confidence in Mobley's ball-handling and decision-making, stating that the team is "pushing the envelope" with him and giving him more reps as an offensive orchestrator.

As Mobley continues to grow in this new role, the Cavaliers are hopeful that his elevated playmaking abilities will make their offense more dynamic and ultimately lead them to the ultimate prize - the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
