Cardinals RB Love Out vs. Rams: Offense Faces Major Test
16 Oct
Summary
- Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love ruled inactive for Cardinals vs. Rams.
- Love's absence due to a lingering right ankle injury.
- Tyler Allgeier is expected to be the lead back for Arizona.
The Arizona Cardinals face a significant challenge in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams, further amplified by the confirmed inactvity of rookie running back Jeremiyah Love. Love has been sidelined due to a persistent right ankle injury, missing practice time throughout the week. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed Love's status, marking this as the first game he will miss after previously carrying "questionable" tags.
This absence places increased pressure on the Cardinals' ground game, which was already struggling. Tyler Allgeier is anticipated to take on the lead running back duties. However, Allgeier has averaged under three yards per carry this season, posing a difficult matchup against the Rams' strong defensive front. The franchise is exercising caution with Love's injury, opting not to place him on injured reserve for now.
