22 Aug
Summary
- Cardinals have 3 former Raiders on their roster
- Raiders have 1 former Cardinals player on their roster
- Jones, a former Raider, set to be Cardinals' No. 3 receiver
- Nichols, a former Raider, on Cardinals' PUP list with neck injury

As the 2025 NFL preseason winds down, the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders are set to square off in their final exhibition game this weekend. The matchup, which will take place at State Farm Stadium, is the last preseason contest for the entire league.
Given the large offseason rosters of both teams, it's no surprise that several players have spent time with the opposing organization during their NFL careers. The Cardinals currently have three former Raiders on their roster, while the Raiders have one ex-Cardinal.
Among the familiar faces, wide receiver Jones is poised to play a significant role for the Cardinals this season. After entering the league with the Buffalo Bills in 2017, Jones was traded to the Raiders in 2019 and spent the next three seasons in Las Vegas, amassing 81 catches for 847 yards and two touchdowns. Now in his second year with the Cardinals, Jones is expected to be the team's No. 3 receiver.

Another former Raider on the Cardinals' roster is Nichols, who is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list due to a neck injury he suffered last season in Week 6. Nichols played for the Raiders in 2023 and 2024 before signing a three-year deal with the Cardinals last offseason, recording 92 tackles and three sacks in 34 games (all starts) during his time in Las Vegas.
The lone ex-Cardinal on the Raiders' roster is Walker, who spent part of the 2023 season on the team's practice squad.
As the preseason comes to a close, both the Cardinals and Raiders will be looking to fine-tune their rosters and prepare for the upcoming regular season, with the added intrigue of familiar faces on the opposing sideline.
