Kenyan runner Joyciline Jepkosgei has set a new women's course record at the 2026 Cardiff Half Marathon. She crossed the finish line with an outstanding time of 1:05:40, beating her previous world record status. Ethiopian athletes Wede Kefale and Tigist Tesema followed, securing second and third place.
The men's race saw a strong performance from Kenya's Gideon Kiprotich, who won in 59:43. He finished ahead of last year's winner, Yismaw Dillu, and Bahrain's Jonah Rutio, who claimed third place. The event also featured wheelchair races, with Poland's Sam Kolek winning the men's event and Mel Nicholls taking the women's title.
Under glorious conditions, the 13.1-mile course around the Welsh capital saw a massive turnout of over 29,000 runners. Among the notable participants were athletics legend Dame Kelly Holmes, former Welsh rugby prop Adam Jones, and ex-Wales football captain Aaron Ramsey.
