Cape Verde's Shock World Cup Debut: Round of 32 Bound!

Cape Verde is making an unprecedented debut in the 2026 World Cup, having successfully advanced to the round of 32. The team, known as the Blue Sharks, began their tournament with a remarkable 0-0 draw against Spain, featuring an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Vozinha. They followed this with two more draws, including a 2-2 result against Uruguay and a final 0-0 tie with Saudi Arabia. These results were enough to see Cape Verde progress from their group, a significant achievement in their first-ever World Cup appearance. They are scheduled to play Argentina on July 3 for a chance to reach the round of 16.
