Malhotra Dynasty: Father Coaches Son in NHL

The Vancouver Canucks have made a remarkable selection in the NHL Draft, choosing Caleb Malhotra with the third overall pick. This marks a significant moment as Caleb is the son of the Canucks' recently appointed head coach, Manny Malhotra. The younger Malhotra, who recently turned 18, has committed to playing for Boston University and could potentially become a key player for the franchise.

Manny Malhotra, who previously played for the Canucks from 2010 to 2013, was hired as head coach this past spring. This father-son pairing in the NHL is a rare occurrence. Adding to the family's athletic prominence, Caleb's maternal uncle is none other than Basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash. Nash, who is the brother of Caleb's mother, Joann, attended the draft to support his nephew.
