Clark & Cunningham Return for Fever's 2026 Preseason
25 Apr
Summary
- Clark and Cunningham are set to play in their second season together.
- Both stars missed the 2025 playoffs due to season-ending injuries.
- Several other Fever players are sidelined for the preseason opener.

The Indiana Fever is preparing for their second WNBA season with stars Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, set to open their 2026 preseason against the New York Liberty on Saturday. This marks a significant return for both players, who were forced to miss the entirety of the 2025 playoffs due to season-ending injuries.
Clark's 2025 season was limited to just 13 games due to various injuries, though she still earned an All-Star selection. Cunningham, a key player for the Fever, also had her 2025 season cut short by a torn MCL in late August. Both have entered training camp fully recovered and are cleared to play.
However, the Fever will be without several other players for the preseason opener, including Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, Ty Harris, and Damiris Dantas. Following their game against the Liberty, Indiana will face the Dallas Wings twice to conclude their preseason and begin the regular season on May 9.
