São Caetano Suffers Humiliating 12-0 Defeat

São Caetano, a club with a history of runner-up finishes in major tournaments, endured a significant humiliation recently. Following a 5-0 first-leg defeat, the team suffered a crushing 7-0 loss at home to Primavera, resulting in a devastating 12-0 aggregate score in the Copa Paulista.

Striker Kauan Cunha was a standout performer for Primavera, netting an impressive five goals in the decisive second leg. This thrashing capped off a disappointing season for São Caetano, despite a promising start in the Série A4.

The team reached the semifinals of the fourth division of the Campeonato Paulista but failed to secure promotion. Their Copa Paulista performance was notably poor, with only two points gathered across six group stage matches.

São Caetano's progression to the knockout stage was fortuitous, as they advanced to the play-in round only after another team was penalized for using an ineligible player.
