BYU Star Dybantsa Eager to Play Alongside Celtics' Tatum and Brown

In a recent interview on the "Garden Report" show, BYU Cougars forward AJ Dybantsa shared his thoughts on the prospect of playing alongside Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Dybantsa, who is projected to be a top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, believes the trio's versatility and complementary styles would make for a formidable combination.

"If the basketball god ever made that work out, I think that we all kind of played the same positions," Dybantsa said. "I think we can each play the guard or the wing. I think their games complement each other, Tatum and Brown, and I think I am pretty adaptable and pretty flexible. I think it wouldn't hurt anybody's game, I think it would only enhance it."

Dybantsa's comments come as the Celtics are in the midst of a rebuilding season, having let go of most players from their 2023-24 championship squad during the offseason. With Tatum sidelined for the entire season due to an Achilles injury and Brown carrying the team, Celtics fans have been vocal about the team tanking to improve their chances of drafting Dybantsa in 2026.

The Cougars forward acknowledged seeing these fan posts on social media, saying he is grateful for the support but understands that the lottery process is out of his control. "It's not my choice to play for whatever team, so I'm just gonna be grateful for whoever drafts me, whenever that is, and I'm just gonna make the most out of every opportunity if that's Boston or if it's not."
