On November 10, 2025, BYU starting guard Kennard Davis Jr. was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a crash in Provo, Utah. According to a Provo police department release, Davis suffered minor injuries and was taken to the police station, where he was charged with driving under the influence.
BYU has acknowledged the allegations and is currently looking into the situation. It remains unclear whether Davis will travel with the seventh-ranked Cougars to play No. 3 UConn in Boston on November 12. The university's honor code requires all students to abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and other substances.
Davis, a 6-foot-6 junior from St. Louis, is averaging 9.0 points per game this season. He did not play in BYU's game against Delaware on November 8 due to a leg injury. Prior to joining the Cougars, Davis spent two seasons at Southern Illinois.
