BVB Celebrates 1966 Legends & Future Stars

Borussia Dortmund's season opener was marked by a series of special events honoring both historical triumphs and recent successes. The club proudly presented the "Heroes of 1966," who clinched the European Cup Winners' Cup, becoming the first German club to win a European title. This commemoration was particularly poignant, marking the anniversary of their historic victory over Liverpool.

Further celebration was dedicated to a BVB youth team's achievement in May 2026, winning the Premier League International Cup by defeating Real Madrid's youth squad 1-0 in England. The present-day BVB Women's team also engaged fans with an autograph session.

The event saw a special visit from BVB legend Mats Hummels. Expressing his happiness at returning, Hummels interacted with fans, signed autographs, and participated in halftime activities. Musical entertainment was provided by the duo Blumengarten, adding to the festive atmosphere before kickoff.
