The 2025/26 football season in Germany witnessed an unprecedented surge in spectator numbers across the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. A combined total of 21,404,258 tickets were distributed by the 36 professional clubs, setting a new record for attendance in Germany's top two divisions. The average attendance per fixture reached 34,974.
The Bundesliga experienced a substantial rise of 9.1 percent in distributed tickets compared to the previous season, with an average attendance climbing to 41,562. This growth was partly fueled by the return of clubs with large fan bases and stadiums. Stadium occupancy in the top flight also saw a slight increase, reaching 96.1 percent.
In contrast, the 2. Bundesliga reported a slight decrease in ticket numbers following the promotion of key clubs. However, several clubs maintained high attendance figures. Meanwhile, average ticket prices across the Bundesliga continued to climb, with seated tickets seeing a notable increase, while standing tickets experienced a minor rise. Second-division supporters, however, paid slightly less on average than in the prior season.
