As the 2025 Asia Cup approaches, former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has made some intriguing predictions. Arun believes that star pacer Jasprit Bumrah could feature in all the matches during the tournament, which is set to begin on September 9 in Dubai.
Bumrah's workload has been a topic of discussion since India's recent England tour, where he played only three out of five Tests. While some expected him to rest for the Asia Cup, Arun feels Bumrah should be able to play all the matches, though the final decision will be up to the player himself.
Arun is also optimistic about the impact wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav could have at the Asia Cup. Kuldeep, who did not feature in any Tests during the England tour, has gained valuable experience in the T20 format and Arun believes the conditions in Dubai will suit his style of bowling.
Furthermore, Arun hinted that India might be tempted to field three spinners during the tournament, with Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel joining Kuldeep. He believes the trio's different varieties and experience make them an ideal combination, provided the pitch conditions are favorable.
India have a dominant record in the T20I format of the Asia Cup, having won 8 out of 10 matches played so far. The team also recently emerged victorious in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which was also held in Dubai.
