- Rishabh Pant pointed out that the ball hit Bavuma despite his short stature
- Ravindra Jadeja couldn't control his laughter listening to the exchange

In a recent incident that took place on November 11, 2025, during the opening day of the first Test between India and South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah made a cheeky remark about South African captain Temba Bavuma's height.
The incident occurred in the 13th over of the South African innings after Bavuma, who was returning from an injury, initially struggled against Bumrah. When Bavuma missed a good length delivery from Bumrah, the Indian bowler confidently appealed for an LBW decision. However, wicketkeeper Rishabk Pant felt the ball might have gone over the stumps, and India decided not to review the decision.
As the discussion unfolded, Bumrah was heard saying, "Bauna bhi to hae ye (he is a dwarf)," mocking Bavuma's short stature. Pant, in response, pointed out that the ball had hit Bavuma, saying, "bauna hae but laga ya pe hae (he is a dwarf but the ball hit him here)."
The exchange between the two players was caught on camera and quickly went viral on social media, with Ravindra Jadeja, who was also present on the field, unable to hold back his laughter.
Ultimately, the ball-tracking technology showed that Pant was correct in his assessment, as the delivery had indeed gone over the leg-stump. Bavuma was eventually dismissed three overs later, caught by Dhruv Jurel off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav.
