Ohio State Star Quinshon Judkins Joins Browns, Overcomes Arrest to Secure Rookie Deal

Summary
- Browns sign RB Quinshon Judkins to 4-year, $11.4M fully guaranteed deal
- Judkins was arrested in July but will not face charges due to lack of evidence
- Judkins expected to miss Week 1 but could play in Week 2 against Ravens

In a significant move, the Cleveland Browns have finalized a contract with running back Quinshon Judkins, one of their 2025 second-round draft picks. Judkins, the former Ohio State standout, has signed a 4-year, $11.4 million fully guaranteed deal with the team.
The signing comes after Judkins faced legal issues earlier this year. In July, he was arrested and accused of punching a woman at an airport. However, last month, the Broward State Attorney's Office announced that they would not be pursuing formal misdemeanor battery charges against Judkins. Prosecutors cited several factors, including the late reporting of the alleged incident, the lack of surveillance video, and the absence of independent witnesses.
Despite the legal troubles, the Browns remained cautiously optimistic about Judkins' future with the team. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam expressed his frustration with the team's repeated connection to domestic abuse allegations, but he allowed the due process to play out.
As a result of the contract signing, Judkins is now officially a member of the Browns' roster. However, he is not expected to play in the team's Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The running back could, however, be available for their Week 2 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Judkins' arrival in Cleveland is a significant boost for the team's offense. Last year, he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship, scoring three touchdowns in their title game victory over Notre Dame. Judkins transferred to Ohio State from Ole Miss ahead of the 2024 season and led the team with 1,060 rushing yards.
