Brothers Reunite on NRL Field as Taylan May Joins Wests Tigers
20 Jul
Summary
- Taylan May scores try on Wests Tigers debut
- Taylan's brother Terrell throws final pass for the try
- Taylan's career was on hold due to domestic violence charges, now dropped

In a heartwarming reunion, brothers Taylan and Terrell May took the field together for the Wests Tigers in their recent 21-20 victory over the Gold Coast Titans. Taylan, the younger sibling, made an immediate impact, crossing the line in the 13th minute to the delight of the Leichhardt Oval faithful. The final pass for the try was thrown by Terrell, making the occasion even more memorable for the 23-year-old Taylan.
Taylan's journey to this point has been a rollercoaster. In July 2024, his contract with the Penrith Panthers was torn up after he was arrested on domestic violence-related charges. The charges were later dropped earlier this year, and Taylan was picked up on a train and trial contract by the Tigers last month.
"All players deserve a second chance and we think this is the environment which gives him the best chance of success both on and off the field," said Tigers CEO Shane Richardson when Taylan joined the club.
With the support of his brother and the Tigers organization, Taylan will be hoping to put his past troubles behind him and establish himself as a regular in the NRL. The win over the Titans marks the first time the May brothers have played together in the top league, and Tigers fans will be eager to see more of their dynamic duo in the coming weeks and months.
