Broncos Waive New Signee After Just Four Days

The Denver Broncos have initiated their roster cuts by waiving pass rusher Ron Stone Jr., a player who joined the team only four days prior. This decision comes shortly after Denver signed Stone to add depth for their upcoming preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Coach Sean Payton had expressed the need for additional players to manage the workload during the final preseason game.

Ron Stone Jr. is the son of Rob Stone Sr., an offensive lineman who played in the NFL from 1993 to 2005 and won two Super Bowl championships. Before joining the Broncos, the younger Stone played in the UFL, recording 5.5 sacks for the Columbus Aviators and previously four sacks in nine games for the Michigan Panthers in 2025. He is now subject to NFL waivers, with a possibility of rejoining the Broncos' practice squad if he clears.
