Summary
- Bridgewater-Emery volleyball team is on a 10-match winning streak.
- The Huskies have not lost a single set during their impressive winning streak.
- Eight seniors provide crucial leadership for the successful team.
The Bridgewater-Emery Huskies volleyball team has achieved a remarkable 10-match winning streak, not surrendering a single set during this period. This impressive performance comes after facing two consecutive losses earlier in the season, which served as a catalyst for improvement.
Head coach Mary Ernster highlighted that the team transformed these defeats into a positive learning experience, enhancing their focus and determination. The current streak includes a championship title at their home tournament, where they swept Freeman in the finals.
This resurgence is largely attributed to the leadership of eight experienced seniors, alongside key contributions from sophomore Tenley Jatczak. Their collective experience and strong bond have been instrumental. Oakley Weber, a standout player, has surpassed 1,000 career kills, digs, and assists.
The Huskies are now setting their sights on the Class B state tournament, a goal they haven't achieved since 2020. They currently stand fourth in Region 3B, facing strong competition. Their next match is scheduled for October 6th against Sioux Falls Lutheran.
