5 Jul
Summary
- Jacob Misiorowski leads majors in ERA, strikeouts, FIP, WHIP, and hits per nine.
- William Contreras selected to his third career All-Star Game.
- Brewers have only two All-Stars despite having the second-best record.
Milwaukee's prominent battery, Jacob Misiorowski and William Contreras, has been named to the National League All-Star Team. Misiorowski, a leading Cy Young candidate, has dominated this season. He leads the majors with a 1.47 ERA, 156 strikeouts, a 1.97 FIP, a 0.779 WHIP, and a mere 4.7 hits allowed per nine innings. This marks his second consecutive All-Star selection.
Contreras has been selected to his third All-Star Game, his previous selections coming in 2022 and 2024. While starting the season slowly, he has improved offensively, boasting a high average and recent power surge. He is one of three Brewers with over 50 RBIs, tied with Brice Turang at 51, just behind Jake Bauers' 52.
Despite the Brewers holding the second-best record in baseball, they currently have only two All-Stars. This contrasts with teams like the Braves and Dodgers, who have five selections each. The All-Star Game is scheduled for Sunday, July 12th, in Philadelphia.
