Summary
- Elieser Hernandez returns to the Braves organization on a minor league deal.
- Hernandez previously pitched five seasons with the Miami Marlins.
- Atlanta leads the NL East by 7.5 games.
The Atlanta Braves have announced the signing of free agent right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernandez to a minor league contract. This acquisition occurred just prior to the Braves' upcoming series against the Miami Marlins.
Hernandez brings seven years of Major League Baseball experience and is returning to an organization where he has already pitched six innings this season, yielding just one earned run. His previous stint with the Marlins, spanning five seasons, makes his potential involvement against his former team noteworthy.
This move adds depth to the Braves' roster as they currently lead the National League East by a substantial 7.5-game margin. While Hernandez will begin his new assignment in the minors, he is considered a primary bullpen arm ready for recall if needed.
