Brewers' Lockridge Carted Off After Horrific Knee Injury
9 May
Summary
- Lockridge suffered a deep knee cut, hitting bone, after sliding into a wall.
- Initial X-rays were negative, but swelling may hide further damage.
- He had two RBI singles before exiting the game the Brewers won 6-0.

Milwaukee outfielder Brandon Lockridge sustained a significant right knee injury during Friday's home game against the New York Yankees. The incident happened in the fourth inning as Lockridge slid into the outfield wall attempting to catch a foul fly ball. His knee reportedly struck the concrete beneath the padding at a corner where the wall extends outward.
Lockridge was immediately removed from the field on a cart. Manager Pat Murphy characterized the injury as a "huge laceration" that extends down to the bone. While initial X-rays showed no fractures, extensive swelling is preventing a full assessment, with an MRI planned once the swelling subsides.
Prior to the injury, Lockridge had a productive outing, going 2-for-2 with two runs batted in. He contributed an RBI single in the second inning and another in the third, helping the Brewers build a 5-0 lead. Milwaukee ultimately won the game 6-0.
