Senior Brandon Gregovich achieved a significant career milestone on Tuesday, surpassing 1,000 points in Forest Hills' dominant 77-39 victory over Bishop Carroll Catholic.
Gregovich scored 16 points in the game, reaching his 1,000th point just over a minute into the contest. He expressed gratitude for his teammates, particularly Xander Richardson, whose pass set up the historic basket.
Coach Dominic Vescovi praised Gregovich's hustle and rim-running style, calling the milestone play a fitting end to his achievement. Gregovich becomes the 14th player in Forest Hills history to reach 1,000 career points.
The win was a collective effort, with senior Koy McGough leading the Rangers with 20 points. Forest Hills established control with a 23-3 scoring advantage in the second quarter, ultimately securing a decisive win.
A remarkable feat for Forest Hills is having three 1,000-point scorers on the team concurrently for the first time. McGough and junior Dylan Stohon are also well over the 1,000-point mark.
Gregovich's scoring average has steadily increased throughout his high school career, and he also contributes significantly on the boards with 409 rebounds and a high field-goal percentage.
