Bournemouth has completed a loan agreement for Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas, acquired from Italian Serie A side Lazio. The 24-year-old will play for the Cherries until the conclusion of the current season, with an additional option for a permanent transfer. The initial loan fee stands at 1.5 million euros (£1.3 million), with further costs associated with a potential permanent move.
If Bournemouth decides to sign Mandas outright, the transfer fee would be £16 million. Mandas, who becomes the club's inaugural Greek player, has made 33 appearances for Lazio since his arrival from OFI and has represented his country twice internationally. He expressed enthusiasm for the move, citing the team's playing style and the atmosphere.
This signing marks the second goalkeeper addition to Vitality Stadium this month, following the arrival of the experienced Fraser Forster on a six-month contract.
