FIFA Rebrands Gillette Stadium as 'Boston Stadium'
14 Jun
Summary
- Boston will host seven 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.
- The games are actually being played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.
- FIFA's sponsorship rules led to the stadium's temporary name change.

Seven 2026 FIFA World Cup matches are scheduled to take place in the greater Boston area, with all games hosted at what is temporarily known as Boston Stadium. This venue is, in reality, Gillette Stadium, located in Foxboro, Massachusetts, approximately 25 miles from Boston and closer to Providence, Rhode Island.
FIFA's policy of exclusively using its corporate sponsors' names during the tournament means familiar team and venue names are replaced. Consequently, Gillette Stadium will be referred to as Boston Stadium throughout the World Cup, a rebranding also applied to other U.S. host sites. The first match at Boston Stadium is set for Saturday, June 13, featuring Haiti and Scotland, with the final game being a quarterfinal on July 9.
