Summary
- Boston College quarterback room drastically thinned after Lonergan's transfer.
- Only one quarterback with game experience remains on the roster.
- Saginaw Valley State QB Mason McKenzie received an offer from Boston College.

The Boston College Eagles are facing a significant quarterback shortage following Dylan Lonergan's decision to enter the transfer portal on December 4, 2025. This move, occurring shortly after the team's final game of the 2025 season, has left the Eagles' quarterback room critically depleted.
With redshirt senior Grayson James having exhausted his eligibility, Shaker Reisig, a rising sophomore, is the sole quarterback on the roster with prior game experience. This precarious situation strongly suggests that head coach Bill O'Brien will pursue transfer portal additions to bolster the unit for the 2026 season.
In line with this need, former Saginaw Valley State quarterback Mason McKenzie announced on Friday, December 19, 2025, that he received an offer from Boston College. McKenzie brings substantial experience, having accumulated significant passing and rushing statistics over three years, including multiple All-GLIAC selections and Freshman and Player of the Year awards.
