Vikings Legend Bob Lee's Dual Super Bowl Feat Remembered

The Minnesota Vikings have paid tribute to Bob Lee, a former quarterback and punter who died on August 17, 2026, at the age of 81. Lee is remembered for an unusual NFL record: he punted in the Vikings' first Super Bowl IV appearance and later threw their most recent touchdown pass in Super Bowl XI, caught by Stu Voigt.

Lee's professional football journey spanned 11 seasons from 1969 to 1980, playing in 77 regular season games for the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, and Los Angeles Rams. He compiled a 19-11 record as a quarterback with the Vikings.
