Bob Costas Returns to NBC for Sunday Night Baseball

Bob Costas is extending his storied career by returning to NBC, where he will host the pre-game show for the network's "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcasts. This move signifies a homecoming for the veteran sportscaster, who considered NBC his "broadcasting home" for four decades. His return comes after a period away from the network, during which he worked with MLB Network and TNT Sports. Costas's first appearance back on NBC will be on March 26, covering the Los Angeles Dodgers versus the Arizona Diamondbacks matchup at Dodger Stadium. This game holds significance as it is the only Opening Day primetime Major League Baseball event scheduled. Costas's extensive history with NBC Sports includes 15 seasons as a play-by-play announcer and host for their MLB coverage between 1982 and 2000. He expressed deep gratitude to NBC Sports executives for the opportunity to conclude his career where so much of it unfolded.
