Blake Bowen: Baseball's Next Big Athlete

Blake Bowen has rapidly become a notable figure in high school baseball, transitioning from a two-sport athlete to a focused baseball standout at JSerra Catholic High School. His coach, Brett Kay, considers him the best athlete he has ever coached, drawing comparisons to past high-level players.

Standing 6'3" and weighing 225 pounds, Bowen possesses remarkable strength and speed, establishing himself as a top power hitter in California. In his senior year, he recorded a .360 batting average with nine home runs. Bowen is committed to Oregon State, but his talent is projected to make him a second-round pick, if not earlier, in the 2026 MLB Draft.

Bowen emphasizes his overall athleticism, noting his ability to impact the game through running bases and defense, not just hitting. This versatile skill set, combined with his development of baseball instincts and leadership, has prepared him for the next level. His performance throughout the season, including impressive base-stealing tactics and home runs, has attracted significant scout attention.
