Bishop McCort Catholic High School has clinched its third consecutive Southwest Regional Class 2A wrestling team title. The Crimson Crushers achieved this feat with a dominant performance, featuring seven finalists and four champions.
Despite graduating top talent like Jax Forrest, the team, led by returning champions Bo Bassett and Melvin Miller, showcased remarkable depth. Bo Bassett secured his third regional title with a technical fall, while Miller also earned his third championship. Sophomore Keegan Bassett and junior Emory Gunby captured their first regional titles.
The Crimson Crushers amassed 259.5 points, significantly outdistancing competitors Derry Area and Chestnut Ridge. This victory propels ten wrestlers to the upcoming PIAA championships, which commence on Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey.
Notable performances included Kooper Deputy of Chestnut Ridge, who won his first title with four quick pins and set a PIAA season pin record. Dominic Deputy also claimed his third regional title, overcoming a tough opponent in a close match.
