Davis Dazzles in Preseason Win
16 Aug
Summary
- Davis impressed with 21 rushing yards and 32 receiving yards.
- He caught all four of his targets, a notable receiving performance.
- New offensive schemes may increase his receiving opportunities.
In the Bills' recent 29-14 preseason victory against the Panthers, running back Davis made a significant impact. He efficiently gained 21 yards on three rushing attempts and demonstrated his receiving prowess by securing all four of his targets for an additional 32 yards. This performance as a pass-catcher was a surprising development, considering his 27 career regular-season receptions over 34 games.
These contributions align with potential shifts in offensive strategy for the 2026 season. New offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael has indicated a possibility of increased involvement for James Cook as a receiver. This suggests that Davis could also benefit from such schemes, potentially seeing expanded roles when on the field during the upcoming season.
