Marathon Raises Rs 5 Crore for 100 NGOs

The TCS World 10K marathon, set to take place on April 26, has successfully raised more than Rs 5 crore, with funds earmarked to support approximately 100 NGOs.
GoSports Foundation is currently at the top of the fundraising leaderboard, having collected Rs 81.9 lakh. Other notable organizations include Right To Live and United Way Bengaluru, each raising over Rs 38 lakh. In the healthcare sector, the Neonates Foundation of India has raised Rs 33.6 lakh, followed by the Bangalore Kidney Foundation with Rs 29.5 lakh.
Corporations have also actively participated, with ASM Technologies raising Rs 74.1 lakh for GoSports Foundation. Among individual fundraisers, Usha Baliga emerged as a top performer, collecting Rs 29 lakh for the Bangalore Kidney Foundation. Baliga noted a significant increase in individual participation since her first fundraising event in 2009.
Young participants like 11-year-old Siddharth have also contributed, raising Rs 1 lakh for the Charlie Animal Rescue Centre. Visually impaired fundraiser Idiculla Markose supported the Samara Foundation, highlighting the growing need for elder care.
