The Cincinnati Bengals have made a significant addition to their defensive front by agreeing to terms with veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. This move comes after a quieter period in free agency for the team.
Allen has reportedly signed a two-year contract worth $28 million. The Bengals were reportedly proactive in their pursuit of the seasoned defensive lineman following his release from the Minnesota Vikings.
Allen began his NFL career with Washington, where he earned Pro Bowl selections in 2021 and 2022, accumulating 16.5 sacks across those two seasons. He spent his first eight years with the organization before joining the Vikings last March.
In the 2025 season, Allen participated in all 17 games for Minnesota, notching 3.5 sacks, 68 total tackles, and 11 quarterback hits. At 31 years old, he has a history of durability, playing at least 15 games in seven seasons.
He is set to join a Bengals defensive line that also recently added defensive end Boye Mafe. Allen will compete alongside established tackles BJ Hill, Kris Jenkins, TJ Slaton Jr., and McKinnley Jackson.
