Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase Expected to Play Despite Illness
12 Oct
Summary
- Ja'Marr Chase listed as questionable due to illness
- Chase expected to play against Packers on Sunday
- Flacco takes over at QB for injured Burrow, needs to connect with Chase and Higgins

On October 12th, 2025, the Cincinnati Bengals received some concerning news ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was listed as questionable to play due to an illness.
Chase had been limited in practice earlier in the week for rest purposes, but then missed Friday's session entirely because of the illness. However, reports indicate that Chase is still expected to suit up on Sunday.
The Bengals desperately need Chase in the lineup, as the team is trying to bounce back from quarterback Joe Burrow's injury. Veteran QB Joe Flacco is now taking over under center, and he'll need to quickly get on the same page with Chase and fellow wideout Tee Higgins to help the offense get back on track.
"Those guys are two of the best in the world at what they do," Flacco said of Chase and Higgins. "If you can't throw to them and get on the same page as them, then you are in trouble."
Chase echoed those sentiments, saying this is the first time he's had a QB like Flacco, who he believes still has a strong arm. The young receiver is confident that their chemistry will continue to improve as they get more game reps together.
With the Bengals reeling, a healthy and productive Chase will be crucial in helping the team end its losing skid in Week 6.
