Bengals CB Taylor-Britt Jailed for Street Racing
7 Jan
Summary
- Cam Taylor-Britt received a five-day jail sentence for reckless operation.
- He pleaded guilty to driving without a license and street racing.
- Taylor-Britt is set to become a free agent this offseason.

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt must serve five days in jail after pleading guilty to reckless operation and driving without a license in Hamilton County. The charges stem from an incident of street racing on September 19. Judge Bernie Bouchard denied a request for community service, mandating that Taylor-Britt serve his sentence immediately, stating it was a "gift" to receive only five days instead of a possible 30.
This legal trouble comes as Taylor-Britt, 26, prepares for free agency with his rookie contract expiring. He had previously been ticketed for reckless driving in June. The cornerback arrived in court on crutches, recovering from a Lisfranc injury that required surgery, impacting his availability earlier in the season.
In court, Taylor-Britt apologized for his actions. Over four years with the Bengals, he recorded 203 tackles, two forced fumbles, seven interceptions, and 38 passes defended. Despite his desire to return, the team has been utilizing Dax Hill and DJ Turner II as their primary cornerbacks.
