Summary
- Beaver Stadium to feature over 7,000 temporary seats for 2025 season
- $700 million renovation project scheduled for completion before 2027 season
- New West Tower to include premium seating clubs and event spaces

As of August 5th, 2025, Penn State's iconic Beaver Stadium is in the midst of a significant renovation project that will modernize the 65-year-old venue. The $700 million project, which is scheduled for completion before the 2027 football season, has already seen the demolition of the upper deck and press box on the West side of the stadium.
In the meantime, Penn State is constructing a series of temporary bleachers atop the framework of the new West side, providing over 7,000 temporary seats for the 2025 season. The lower seating bowl has been reinforced to remain freestanding during the initial construction phase, with plans to eventually demolish and replace it with new seating.
The temporary seats, which are being built by the same company that constructs temporary bleachers for events like the WM Phoenix Open and F1 racing, are expected to offer fans good views of the game action. Penn State's Athletic Director, Pat Kraft, has even suggested that the temporary seating may provide a better experience than the old West side.
In addition to the temporary seating, the new West Tower will feature two premium seating clubs with about 4,500 seats and 70,000 square feet of lounge space. Pricing for these exclusive club seats starts at $4,500 per seat. The West side will also house a new Welcome Center, creating a "front-door experience" for the university.
