The Chicago Bears have re-signed linebacker Jack Sanborn to a one-year contract, bringing the Chicago-area player back for a second stint with the team.
Sanborn, originally signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin in 2022, spent three seasons in Chicago. During his time with the team, he played in 48 games and started 19 of them. Last March, Sanborn signed with the Dallas Cowboys, reuniting with former Bears coach Matt Eberflus, who was the Cowboys' defensive coordinator last season. His tenure in Dallas was limited to six games, with five starts, due to a concussion and a groin injury.
Throughout his career, Sanborn has accumulated 183 tackles, along with 15 total special teams tackles. The Bears also announced the signing of defensive lineman James Lynch, who previously played for the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans, to a one-year deal. Lynch has recorded 98 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks over five seasons in the league.
