Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson has declared the team's successful 2025 season, which included 11 wins and a division title, as "not good enough." He emphasized that the team is returning to "square one" for the 2026 season, stressing that past achievements do not guarantee future success.
Johnson stated that accomplishing their previous success will be even harder next season, highlighting the extensive work ahead. He believes that feeling otherwise would mean missing the bigger picture of the NFL's competitive landscape.
General Manager Ryan Poles echoed Johnson's sentiment, noting that the team did not achieve their ultimate goal of being a championship-caliber team. He stressed the importance of avoiding complacency and continuing to push forward.
The Bears aim to build upon their offensive system, which produced 7,144 total yards and 52 touchdowns. Johnson also expressed confidence in the team's identity of being physical, fundamentally sound, and poised under pressure.
