On Sunday, the Bears lost starting defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo for the season due to an Achilles tendon tear. A week earlier, rookie Shemar Turner was also sidelined for the year with an ACL tear. With Dominique Robinson still out with a high ankle sprain, the Bears' defensive front has been in flux, prompting the team to seek reinforcements.
The addition of Tryon-Shoyinka, who was a college teammate of Bears defensive back Kyler Gordon, is a sensible, low-risk move for Chicago as they look to bolster their defense and make a push in the second half of the season.
